It wasn't thaaat bad. The haunted pool premise was all right once it was explained
not so much a haunted pool as a cursed spring that draws people in by giving them something they want.
The cast gave it their all and did what they could to make it believable. I think ultimately its biggest problem was that it just didn't deliver suspense or scares well enough. The Japanese woman explaining that she sacrificed her daughter to save her son and that it was a good thing was the most effective.
