This show has become a phenomenon. Tonight they announced a Christmas special that's going to theaters and my theater was sold out within a few hours.

shareI've still yet to get around to watching this, but assuming it's not amazing, I think it's probably a fair assumption that most people haven't watched this series. As of right now, it only has about 25,000 votes, which is the bare minimum amount needed to even be included in the IMDb Top 250 TV Shows; which this series isn't included in, despite having a rating higher than most other TV shows there.
Those who do watch this series are, for the most part, probably Christians. Which is basically akin to someone with an Avengers tattoo watching a Marvel movie. I.e., 9 times out of 10 they're going to rate it absurdly high no matter what its true quality is.
So what we're left with is nothing be uber-fans of Christianity watching the series, giving it 10 after 10, with hardly any outsiders watching and rating it lower to balance the score out.
