Really sad about the reviews
I don't want the mediocre reviews to stop people from liking Dear Evan Hansen as a show. It's a very amazing musical that deserves to be seen by a wide audience.

shareFWIW I agree with you. I understand that it was adapted from a Broadway musical, which I have not seen. Nevertheless I dont feel the singing ADDA to the movie. It detracts from.
For me it throws off the pacing of the movie. Secondly it was just annoying. Third, I felt it conveyed mixed emotions from what was intended.
F0r me, many of the lines would have been SO much more powerful and would have conveyed the right emotions if they were spoken. It really just bored me in spots.
The story line seems solid. I would love to see a non musical version.I went with a friend who felt the same way. Other than the 2 of us, our auditorium was empty
