Spoiler Speculation about the end...
... Is the subconscious mind capable of acting at a faster pace than that in waking state?
I always find the concept of androids in sci-fi fascinating because the processing power of CPUs would mean they could resolve anything in what would be a fraction of a second for us (something the movie Her touched upon), so it would almost be like - say something then wait for what would feel like a century or something for a response from a human. In that meantime the AI's consciousness just has to sit twiddling it's thumbs.
Has there been any studies into whether our subconscious brain is capable of processing at a faster state? I'm just wondering because that final scene could be quite funny in that, if this was the case, possibly they may all only have been under for a very short timeframe.
