Good horror. Question with Spoilers...

Nice to see something a bit different than the usual Hollywood fare.

*******SPOILERS*******

The only bit I didn't quite understand was the 'party' where the dad was shot. Nobody was expecting him to be there. His husband even said he had not seen him for a week. But then the cake had an image of them and their daughter looking happy. I don't understand why they would have that picture if everyone thought they'd split up. Did I miss something?

Yes, the story was interesting but the ending was not really fleshed out enough. That's a good question and, also, who are the townspeople and why are they doing this? Yes, we see the daughter and what they are doing but why? And we never see what happened to the dad. And why every ten years?
