Was not sure if I would and it did take a little while to get used to the style. It was very nicely, perhaps a little too brightly, lit. I didn't approve of a younger Knightly (but would an older man be acceptable these days?). Also, the body movement seemed a little too modern, indecorous even. Occasionally there was a little shimmy of the shoulders and a half step that made me think they were about to leap in to a modern dance as in A Knights Tale - but, dear Reader, they did not.
But those observations aside - I really enjoyed the way this very familiar story was told and I found Anya Taylor-Joy a very watchable Emma. Indeed the whole cast was excellent with a special call out for Miranda Hart.

Glad you liked it. Maybe I'll give it a shot. The trailers make it seem like a silly comedy, though, and Knightly (according to Jane Austen) is supposed to be in his mid-thirties, not a teenage kid.

This Knightly is not a teenager - more older brother age. I admit I found this odd but he still had the sense of wisdom and authority of the older versions and after a while the age didn't matter.

I enjoyed it too. In fact I think it is my favourite version.

I find it strange that everyone keeps referring to the actor who played Knightly as "too young". He was 35 or so when this was filmed and I think he looks every bit of it, especially in close-up shots. His looks don't particularly appeal to me, but I think he played the part very well.

But that aside, on my first viewing I didn't care much for this version. I thought the casting was not good. But I watched it 3 more times, I have to admit, simply because it's so visually stunning. The colors and the costumes are awesome. It grew on me with multiple watches and now I really like it and feel that it's my favorite adaptation.

Same. It’s so well done and zero boring scene. 8.5/10 for me.
