Really disappointing (spoilers)
Everything involving Sam’s journey to becoming Captain America and the weight of an African American taking on the legacy of an iconic hero was solid. The story of Bucky continuing to right his past wrongs and heal from the trauma he went through as brainwashed assassin was less well done, but entertaining enough (for context, I enjoyed ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’).
But everything involving the geopolitics of the MCU post-‘Avengers: Endgame’ was simplistic and babyish. Marvel Studios never does well when it tries to dip into the politics of its universe and this series was no exception - Karli and the Flag Smashers, the Global Repatriation Council, and the post-”Blip” state of the world were confused, lazily thought out, and poorly written. Both Zemo and Sharon Carter became completely different people for the sake of plot, an obvious twist and future spin-offs.
