Chick flick?

Trying to decide whether to go. I didn't like the previews at first but it grew on me.

It looks like a movie for tween girls. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

reply

Are you a tween girl? ;)

reply

No, I'm a middle aged man.

reply

Are you into pubescent girls or something? I only ask because you also saw Cuties (among other things...), lol.

reply

I like movies focused on young girls. They tend to be interesting and well made.

reply

Good for you. I'm a middle-aged man myself, straight, and I loved this movie. Probably the best of the year.

reply

And I forgot. What are tweens tween? Teenage years and something?

reply

Tweens are preteens, usually age 10-12 are considered tweens.

reply

When did you have your first period?

reply

What's a period?

reply

LOL!

We all must watch only movies in which the protagonist is the same sex, race, and approximate age we are. Doing otherwise is an indication that we are pedophiles, or at the very least sissies. Also, men must never read books written by women, and women must not read books written by men.

I hear the first half hour is slow, but then the zombie apocalypse breaks out and her family has to fight its way out of the Walmart where they are trapped.

reply

This was known as the period book in my 5th grade class. Girls read it to learn about getting their first period.

reply

Rachel McAdams is in it so you must watch it. Those are the rules.

reply

Just watched it. Yeah it's a pretty Chicky as a flick, but Rachel McAdams was awesome as usual.

Middle aged White woman flick?

Margaret‘s prime audience are now moviegoers who are slow to make their way to theaters, and even slower post pandemic: over-50 Caucasian women. Some 55% of Margaret‘s audience were over 45, women over 25 numbered 62%, women under 25 were 16%. The 55+ demo was the largest quad, with Caucasians numbering 70%.

Yep, a row of us, former classmates, got together to view this for the nostalgia.

I was surprised how well they followed the book, it's been decades since I read it, but it all came back during the movie.

One told me Judy Blume was heavily involved in this so maybe that's why it was so closely, about word for word with the book.
