Can we have an intelligent discussion of this wonderful series?

Forum seems to be flooded with inarticulate infantile children.

reply

infantile children?

Well, it is a forum.

reply

So far so good. The first 3 episodes had a lot more events happening and since then it has slowed down to focus on the characters more. We also see the different factions and ideologies play against each other. I’m at episode 9 now and it seems like most of the role players are starting to doubt their at first rigid belief system. Even the android lady is believing beyond what an atheist could believe.

reply

Ii think you need to come back after you have watched episode 10.

reply

Holy sh!t dude you are right. I dont know what to think of that at this time. But season 2 has a lot to live up to now.

reply

This forum, unfortunately , has lately been inundated with posts preoccupied with political agenda in every show and movie, even when there most likely isno agenda. This is a terrific show! I don't think it deserves the 8.9 though. Maybe 7.3.

reply

And you say that only a few weeks after racial quotas have been implemented to get nominated to an Oscar...

reply

Just like IMDb which was shut down.

The irony being that the extreme leftists that turned the board to a political dumpster fire blamed everyone else for getting it shut down...

reply

In fact, our biggest problem is those who whine the most: the illiterate, inbred right wing hicksters who hysterically cry "sjw" under every movie thread.

reply

The irony of this post is not lost on me 👍🤣

You mean, like people who open a thread just to insult other users? 🤔

reply

It literally says in the title why I opened the thread. Thanks for your 'contribution'

reply

I guess your idea of an "intelligent discussion" is to insult other users. Whatever.

reply

So far the only wonderful thing about these series is how this convoluted mystery box crap could get greenlit in the first place.

reply

That was a long winded 'no'.

reply

yes.

Riddle me these then:

- Why is it Ridley Scott's obsession to have androids in his films who have feelings? Where are those feelings come from? Did we get an in-universe explanation for this?
- Why is it Ridley Scott's obsession to have androids in his films who have sexuality? Where is this coming from? Did we get an in-universe explanation? I watched all 10 eps, I must have missed it...
- Why was the creature design team so poorly talented that they could not come up with anything else than a flying snake in 2020? Also, the bullsh*t white Neomorph designs didn't work in Prometheus or in Alien Covenant, and this thing looks like a cross between a snake and that ridiculous "hammerpede" that attacked Milburn in Prometheus. Was 8 years not enough time to come up with something new?
- How was the snake conceived exactly? Was it Campion (the original dude) who put it there? Why did he do that? How can an android have an intercourse anyways? Why does the snake crave android fluid, then blood?
- Will we get a definitive answer on the structure in the desert? What was its origin? Why was it there? Why did the heat burn one character but not the other? Can these people write anything coherent?

All in all for me the whole series was a bitter disappointment. No complex backstory, just concepts and random scenes thrown together in a mixed bag. There is no unifying vision gluing any of this together. After one season, I think I'll quit...

reply

Mother and Father were reprogrammed by Campion. That's why they have feelings. Campion did not put the baby in Mother. She explicitly said this near the end of the last episode so that even attention-challenged people like you can get it. Snakes are a representation of the devil in the bible. I'll leave you to fill in the blanks.

reply

OK, so the devil put the baby in Mother? How would that work in-universe?

reply

what?

reply

I'm trying to have an intelligent discussion.

So is the whole series a metaphor for... what exactly?

OR

Do the events make logical sense, and follow an internal logic (other times referred to as in-universe)?

If you picked #1, then I'm out, as I think it's a cheap cop out for the writers to get out under the burden of having to write a logical plot.

If you picked #2, then please explain how the devil as a character works in-universe, as in how it fits into the internal logic of the events presented in the series (so far).

reply

So basically, you want to know how the story ends before you have read the end of the story.

reply

No, the birth of the snake already happened. I'm asking how its existence makes sense.

reply

That sound incorrect.
I just saw Episode 1 on YouTube for free as a preview.
Campion was the premie that almost died from when Mother and Father crash
landed on the planet. He was their kid, and how did he ever learn to program
to such a degree. This show is illogical and fake.

SPOILER - Mother kills father and buries him, and then goes on a murder
rampage killing the humans who land and want to take Campion back to be
with other humans, she goes unto the space base and crashed it into the
planet.

So ... it is all a malfunction? Who cares, this is all manipulative BS.

reply

I thought you wanted to have an intelligent conversation instead of insulting people for their different opinions of the show.

reply

...Spoilers...

I found it interesting and engaging until they showed that large flying 'snake-dragon' at the end.

reply

You have not said anything intelligent ... the custom for civilized people with half a brain is to lead off if you have something to say.
