No punishment (spoilers)?

So Wanda kidnapped and made slaves of and psychically tortured thousands of people. At the end Photon says, "oh, if only they knew what you did for them!"
What she did for them??
She ought to be locked up for life!

reply

"What she did for them??"

She gave up her imaginary/simulated children/sock puppets who never had their own minds.

reply

Yep.
I have to say they were kind of adorable, though, especially in their 5 year old incarnations.

reply

They gloss over a lot of felonies in the superhero movies.

I don’t think it’s a matter of whether she deserves prosecution so much as who the heck has the power to do it

She’s now well beyond the Raft’s capabilities

Sort of Trump — left-wingers want him locked up, but where will any court find twelve jurors who’ll convict no matter how strong the evidence? You can’t disqualify jurors just because of how they vote (because you can’t ask how they voted). You definitely can’t exclude them based only on political party. So even out here in the real world, some people are above the law.

Hulk,
Thor,
Wanda,
Vision,
Captain Marvel....

Those really aren't beings you just arrest.

reply

And who exactly is going to arrest her?

reply

Just for argument's sake, how do you PROVE Wanda Maximoff actually did anything?

How do your prove Telepathy and Mind-Control actual is a REAL thing and how do you show that it was Wanda and not someone else?

Wanda never makes individual contact with anyone from the town.
Wanda didn't use a spell nor a potion nor an incantation that was recorded that can show proof that Wanda actually did any thing.

Everyone in the town can say they were under some type of Mass Hypnosis but like Agatha was searching for, "How did Wanda do it"?

Let's say that they convened a jury, how about a GRAND Jury. Wouldn't they be afraid that she would just control the minds of the jury and get absolution?
