Does the world know that the Panther is dead?

Bucky, as the White Wolf, has a position of honor within Wakanda and it is surprising that no-one checked in on T'Challa. Sam gets new tech, courtesy of Wakanda; and I get it that Coogler treated the real-world reality of Boseman (not telling anyone) as part of the story.

But.....

I know I sound like one of those posters that complained incessantly about, "Where were the other Avengers" in any solo film.

Yeah, it is a nit-pick but maybe it is a signal that this makes a re-cast smoother without destroying the current story-lines.

Not exactly sure what you are asking in the thread title. The MCU world did know that T'Challa died. There was a TV video clip in the movie of CNN's Anderson Cooper mentioning his death due to an unspecified disease. And, of course, there was the scene of his mother, the Queen, addressing the UN and warning away nations that think Wakanda had lost its protector.

That is the question I was asking. I didn't remember those quite clear statements in the film.

The secondary reflection was if any MCU heroes that T'challa and Wakanda had a relationship with were informed. Knowing full well that this story is about how Wakanda reacted and dealt with the grief and not anyone else within the MCU.

The other unfortunate thought is there is not a single reference, cameo or thought as regards Stan Lee in Wakanda Forever. I am also not sure if Stan Lee/Jack Kirby have any mention or call-out in the movie. I am just going to assume they both get a mention in the credits. Yes, Boseman both "owned" and became the personification of T'Challa, but T'Challa and the Black Panther were still created by Lee/Kirby.

I would suggest that the character will be recast.

"..I would suggest that the character will be recast."

I bet a loophole they'll exploit with one of the two upcoming Avengers films is that a different T'Challa arrives from a parallel universe and winds up stuck in the main one.

They already got a new T'Challa set (if you watch the scene during the end credits). Either they are going the Young Avengers route and having the new T'Challa start out there, or they are going to SORAS the character (soap opera rapid age syndrome), which they already did with Ant-Man's daughter (not talking the five year time jump either because of Thanos' finger snap).

Pretty sure the rest of the world does. Mainly because in the first 25 minutes of the movie, every other line of dialogue (or every 5 seconds) was some variation of "T'Challa is dead." Just change "T'Challa" to "your king," "my king," "our king," "my brother," "your brother," "my son," "your son," and maybe "Black Panther." Also, there was that whole scene in the first 25 minutes where Angela Bassett was at some United Nations meeting or some meeting like that (by that point I was already getting EXTREMELY pissed off at the movie (mainly because of the dialogue that I just mentioned), so I don't have a good memory on stuff), but she was telling all the other countries that T'Challa was dead. So they probably passed the info on to the public, if it wasn't made public/word wide already. I think that scene happens after the one year later time jump. I think by then the rest of the world would know.
