Second season, episodes 6 and seven? About the writer? Talk about heart...damn
Finishing episode 7 and its dusty as hell in here...that was pretty far above and beyond the kind of fare we're used to seeing from this show, and I've been loving the standard stuff!
Really well written episodes that almost seem out of place with how moving they are, how much they explore this character's background, motivations and eventual regrets.
It was beautiful, in a way...just how time can pass so quickly, how the past can seem so far away and yet still seem like it was yesterday, the way some memories stick with us, how they still help shape who we are, how important it is to free ourselves from the resentments that may be plaguing us etc all that kind of stuff.
I mean, it was still a little goofy, definitely over the top at times, but there was a whole lot of heart packed in there and some themes touched on that should be taken to heart IMO. Just a really good set of episodes that seemed to come out of nowhere in an otherwise great, but ultimately 'silly' show that doesn't take itself near serious enough to have seen them coming.
Pardon the ramble, just kind of disappointed to not come across anyone else pointing it out...wanted to see what others had thought so figured I'd share my own here...
