Enterprise-G - A New Legacy

Glad it ended with a bang the way it did. The usual trope we see was to bring old established characters back to sacrifice or kill them off so the new generation can be shown the light. Instead we see them retire with the old crew playing cards and having fun. Perfect send off imo.

I'm not sure how I feel about the USS Titan being rechristened as the new Enterprise. It would've been the perfect time to introduce a new ship class or the name given to the most advanced or powerful flagship in the fleet (traditionally but excluding Ent-C). I suppose since it's a Constitution III-class ship, we're going back to basics.

I wonder how La Forge was able to weaponize the Enterprise-D considering it was in the museum which would have it decommissioned for the most part. Must've called in a few favors or something. It's weird how maybe all the ships in the museum have kept all its tech and armaments intact since they did steal the cloaking device off the HMS Bounty.

Sucks we didn't get a small cameo from Kate Mulgrew as Admiral Janeway, just more Tuvok which I am fine with. If they wanted to go crazy with the budget they could've also had Starfleet request assistance from the Klingon's and Romulan's like the good o'l Dominion War days.

How come the Borg only assimilated the ships but not the Starbase or the humans on Earth? It's weird considering they had all that time to prepare and infiltrate. Did the mutilated Queen forget they need them to procreate? The Starbase didn't even fire back to try to disable the ships armada. Pretty sure a UFP Starbase is stronger than Deep Space stations defense wise.

I knew they couldn't get rid of Q that easily. It's sort of a homage of retconning the first two seasons.

When I saw the entire Starfleet attacking the earth starbase for 30 minutes before it finally had shield failure I realized how weird that was. Think of the endless amounts of Phasers and Photon and Quantum Torpedos hitting that starbase in just one salvo, yet the shields are able to withstand the entire Starfleet for 30-45 minutes.

It didn't look like they were firing Quantum Torpedoes. The majority of it was Photon Torpedoes but I didn't see a hint of blue. The other torpedoes they were firing seemed to be Transphasic Torpedoes from the return of Voyager. It was yellow-orange in nature. If you rewatch the last episode you'll see what I mean. It sounded different as well when fired.

As for withstanding all that firepower, you could say the same with DS9 during the Dominion Wars but then again, it had a arsenal of firepower on defense as well while the Starbase didn't have any it seems. I couldn't really tell if it was the Starbase firing back as well. We see scorch marks on the ships but I assume that was the USS Titan engaging the armada.

There is so much confusion and plot holes in the story overall, add to that how they are ignoring events from previous seasons (especially the new Borg with their singing Queen) but I can't blame them the last 2 season were a train wreck.

There was not much explanation of Jack's original confrontation with the Borg Queen years ago or how the changelings ended up serving her ?

The whole fleet armada scenes were silly they could have at least found some explanation of how space dock survived all those torpedoes and phasers before going kapooom.

As for Kate Mulgrew there is talk online that she doesn't want to appear on screen as Janeway again.

No one liked the first two seasons so throwing those aside made the rank and rating of the show jump if you noticed.

Eh, that was explained when Jack was talking to the Queen, why the disgruntled Changelings teamed up with the disfigured Borg Queen. As for the orginal confrontation, pretty sure that was the first encounter of her with him. Rest was via the communicator/link with the collective she used to lure him to the ship.

They have large shields so think of it as how DS9 survived all those hits. Then again they had allies and such fighting back and not all focused on one target. The events played out must've been short as the USS Titan only was able to do 2-3 strafing runs before the Starbase exploded.

That's a pity. I mean why go through all those comic-con or reunion shows if you're not wanting to reunite? It's her most epitome role.

And probably point-defence systems for incoming torpedos.
