Disappointing

The original Wicker Man was excellent and shocking.

The Nic Cage remake was unintentionally hilarious, Cage has possibly never overacted on this level before or since and that’s saying something, it’s just terrific silliness.
I love it.

I thought Midsommar was impressively photographed and the story was really creepy and scary.
It was pretty great as a horror story imo.

Indeed. It was way too nonsensical, pretentious, melodramatic, poorly paced, and over long for my liking.

I gave it a generous rating of 5, mainly for Florence Pugh’s performance.

I disagree, I found this movie amazing and terrifying! Top-notch psychological horror!

Not that I don't love the original "Wicker Man", which is utterly eccentric as well as genuinely horrifying. I mean, how many classic horror movies have musical numbers thrown in for the hell of it?
