religious meaning????

i thought maybe this movie was saying or showing how, maybe religions are easiest to acclimatize to when your grieving. is that the point of the movie? or is there no point ? i really dont know what i just watched. just trying to make sense of it.

The point is obvious - be wise to stay away from cults because some cults are extremely dangerous. Danny's grief is not the reason why she eventually succumbed to the cult, she did so just to survive.

reply

I think she empathized with their grief in the end or vice versa which made cult life an easier possibility for her.

reply

I thought the cult don't grieve because they have a different view of death. So help me understand - do you think mimicking the agony of dying man is their own way of grieving? Or perhaps you think Dani is crying in grief for the death of her ex-boyfriend in the end?

reply

At the end their grief appeared genuine. They grieved so hard that even Dani stopped and looked at them. She recognized their grief as similar to the agony she had but in her case she kept holding her grief in. So I think part of their process is genuine grief for the death of their loved ones also.

Genuine grieving without tears? Dude, if you have a chance to re-watch the ending, you may notice how fake their grief is. Or maybe I should re-watch it for the alternate ending after drinking a nice cup of 🍄 tea.

reply

Deal, I will go watch that ending again but on my viewing they didnt look fake, they were screaming and wailing etc... I may need some of your tea though.
