Not really a horror movie

I never saw this as a horror movie, it was more of a study of a messed up relationship. Dani and Christian are clearly not suited, but he is not brave enough to tell her that he wants out. Her family tragedy adds another of guilt. The conversation between the couple when he tells her that he is going to Sweden is uncomfortable to watch. Neither of them is being honest with the other. Dani is so desperate to hang on to him that she masks her true feelings to appease him. It's very telling that when later asked how long they have been going out, they each give different answers.

I agree. I would classify it as a "creepy" movie. In my mind I loosely classify movies with jump scares and supernatural elements as horror. Others I see as creepy. "The Conjuring" would be horror in my book whereas "Cookers" would be creepy.
