This film will be a Box Office hit.

PG-13 Horror film about a killer doll. It's already being meme'd online. Apparently the M3gan hashtag has millions of hits on tik-tok.

Teens are gonna check this out in January. This film doesn't have much competition, January is a weak slate. The fact it got a PG-13 rating is what seals it. This is gonna rake in the dough.

Yeah then they'll rerelease it three months just like Morbius.

All signs point to it being a hit.

- PG-13 Horror
- Releasing at a time with almost no competition
- Trailer has already gone viral
- Word of mouth from early screenings is actually pretty positive

$20+ Opening weekend is a lock.

The Blumhouse-Universal PG-13 genre title is off to a great start with $2.75M after 5PM showtimes. Universal is betting $17M heading into the weekend on M3GAN while tracking was seeing well north of $20M. Horror fans always come out on Thursday night so hopefully this great momentum keeps up.

A Blumhouse movie with great reviews aimed at the under 25 demo is always a good sign for box office prospects: Critics gave M3GAN 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. The pic is booked at 3,509 theaters and is expected to take the No. 2 slot behind Avatar: The Way of Water which is eyeing between $25M-$30M in weekend 4

There is a fairly high level of buzz around M3GAN, thanks in part to the film's meme-generating trailer. Very strong critical reviews, the film's teenage friendly PG-13 rating and serving as this weekend's top alternative to Avatar: The Way of Water should all help generate walk-up business for M3GAN this weekend. Traditionally, horror films also have a strong history of breaking out at the box office in early January. And while the film only opened in three international markets this past weekend, the film's $1.7 million debut in Mexico and $1.4 million launch in France both suggest that M3GAN could potentially perform similarly to Smile at the box office (which opened with $22.61 million domestically). BoxOfficeReport is predicting that M3GAN will debut in second place with $26.0 million this weekend, before potentially holding up well for a horror film in the weeks ahead.

M3GAN starts with $3M+ previews in US/CAN. Solid reviews with 95% RT. Strong sales for FRI. The weekend should go over $30M, possibly in the mid-30s.

2021 horror;
The Menu - DOM opening ($9 million). WW gross ($73 million) ** STILL SHOWING **
Smile - DOM opening ($22 million). WW gross ($216 million).
The Black Phone - DOM opening ($23 million). WW gross ($161 million).
Scream - DOM opening ($30 million). WW gross ($140 million).
Halloween Ends - DOM opening ($40 million). WW gross ($104 million).
Nope - DOM opening ($44 million). WW gross ($171 million).

With M3gan tracking around $20-35 million for it's DOM opening it's in good company. With the good reviews thus far, PG-13 rating and relative lack of competition we're looking at around $150 million WW possibly even breaking $200 million WW if it holds well in upcoming weeks.
