These two ladies as portrayed in this drama, come across as star struck, naive idiots. Neff was dazzled by the "heiress" with the German accent and her massive $100 tips. Such was Anna's skill as a con woman, that no questions were asked. Rachel was keen to hang around Anna as she enjoyed her genorosity. Again, she was too star struck to see under the surface. A real heiress would not have money problems. Even after the disaster in Morocco, Rachel still believed that Anna was genuine! It took a while for the penny to drop.

This series was not as good as expected. The journalist never thought to look on Instagram until one of her co workers suggested it. I mean, come on.
Rachel did get ripped off, so I dont get why everyone was rooting for anna in the courtroom either.

I thought the same thing. It felt very out-of-character for everyone, including the journalist and her co-workers, to seem so invested in hoping Anna would get away with it. Also her friend Kacy, who knew perfectly well that Anna was ultimately a con woman, suddenly "changing teams" and supporting her? Didn't feel believable.
