Season One and Two Thoughts and Observations (Spoilers)
I enjoyed watching this show for the great actors and the interesting stories. I would not recommend this show for religious people since the show depicts a corrupt religious dynasty. The humor is hit-or-miss for me but everyone has their own taste in comedy. John Goodman has to be the greatest tv dad EVER. Cassidy Freeman was great in Longmire and Walton Goggins was amazing in Justified.
Kelvin's God Squad of musclemen was a bit unnerving since it was too similar to the real-life woof/pup/musclemen gay fetish. Kelvin's relationship with Keefe is also quite odd and I suspect Kelvin will come out as gay at some point. The adult siblings act like children too often and Judy uses too much AAVE for humor. Judy and BJ also have a rather strange relationship and they both are possibly insane.
I also really enjoyed Jennifer Nettles' voice on the Misbehavin' song so I might have to check out her other songs.
The first two seasons are worth watching if you like zany humor and you can deal with some of the eccentricities of this dysfunctional family.
