Boy did this ever come screeching to a halt

I'm on episode four...and it doesn't seem anything like the show it was just a couple episodes ago. I was gripped man, I sent IMDB links to family members, "You gotta check this out!"...was such an engaging story.
And then it switched gears so suddenly that I'm not sure I can even keep watching this. That's really too bad man, this looked like it was going to be amazing.
I'm one of those snobs that only watches the best TV and I really thought this was right up there with Ozark, Breaking Bad etc so...yeah what a disappointment to see it suddenly become a slogfest here...just...nothing it happening, good Lord. Looking at other posts on here, it looks like it doesn't get any better either =[
