What an amazing film!

Hats off Ben A. You are one talented guy. Hands down.

It was ok. Anti climatic with the manager roll. Pretty much him getting drunk until the middle then getting drunk till the end then braking down. Mix of the wrestler and leaving Las Vegas but all in all I’d give it a 5/10

Just for Affleck's performance alone this deserves a higher score than 5. I wouldn't say that it was an amazing film but it was pretty good. 7/10

I thought so too, but I am a sucker for sentimental sports dramas. Hoosiers, All The Right Moves, Glory Road, McFarland USA, Rocky, Million Dollar Baby, Cinderella Man, Moneyball, Bend It Like Beckam, The Karate Kid... keep them coming 🍿

Memorial High definitely had Cobra Kai vibes and their coach was their Sensai Kreese.

1st half hour was boring after that got a tad bit better 6 outta 10 for me

Agreed. This is the kind of film that critics love to whale on. (So do wanna-be critics.) But I thought it was great. I thought Affleck's performance was outstanding and I loved all the kids on the team. This was much deeper than a formulaic underdog sports movie. Very good film, this one.

The portrayal of his struggle with alcohol was very realistic. The drama seemed real, too. Not a caricature, not over-blown.

I like nihilistic films, I like adventure films, I like films of redemption too. It happens - perhaps not often enough, but it deserves to be represented.
