Wow....when did writing become so cliched and meaningless?

Only about 2/3rds through this series and most episodes are clunkers so far. Such cliched and pretentious writing and characters.

Almost after each episode, it is like, "what came from watching this show?".....

You have valid points. I binged it in one sitting...Heres my take. They are trying to tap into the trend of A million Little Things, Or This is Us. But with an edge. I liked the series, but whats much better is "Easy" on Netflix I believe. same premise, but much more intense, and not all happy endings. Give that a try. There are 3 seasons I think, and you wont be disappointed.

Modern Love was renewed for a second season. Since I saw some pretty good acting scenes in season one, for me, its worth watching.

I did watch Easy and liked most of it, though one or two characters kind of were unrealistic in some of their behaviors (the chubby husband for one).

A couple irritants of mine when it comes to these shows are when they are so cookie-cutter cliched and when the characters do incredibly stupid things without any sort of explainable caveat for the viewer when they are supposedly hyper-intelligent (the show Workin' Moms from Canada had all sorts of the stupid acts through the show).

agree with the unrealistic behaviors of some of the characters. Thanks for the warning on Working Moms..never watched.

It should have been much edgier. Especially the nudity and sex.

These people weren't just cliched, they were milquetoast.

I am on the second ep right now and enjoying the show so far, but your post made me think of Love Actually. When I first saw it years ago I thought it was very enjoyable. Tried to rewatch it recently, and oh my god, it's so saccharine and unrealistic, a lot of it just makes you want to hurl.

Never heard of Easy, will give it a try.

Streaming is the new direct to video. Get used to mediocre "content".
