Obi-Wan & Anakin are actually using their lightsabers to duel each other as practice.

Even though they were both advanced - Masters... it seems kinda reckless.

Any prior precedent to this series of Jedi doing this?

In the old canon, lightsabers could be set to "stun"

I suspect, though, if Jedi have progressed enough to practice with live blades, they're also good enough to avoid killing each other

Nope, no source that I can specifically recall other than that's what they gave the younglings, so possibly one of those visual dictionaries before the Disney purchase

One Arm Willie and Peg Leg Pete both practiced this way.

There was never any issue.
