I predict a disaster - Cartoon to Live Action fail...

Cad Bane looked pretty terrible in Boba Fett and the Inquisitors look even worse in this.

Some things just aren't going to translate well from cartoon to live action and judging by the trailers that is the case here. It's smells badly of cartoon and doesn't look particularly cinematic/ epic.

Probably a mistake getting the cartoon people involved as they view their output as proper canon and therefore leave themselves with a smaller canvas to work with...

Hopefully I'm wrong but the signs are not good here.

Who from the cartoon is involved? I'm getting tired of the Filoniverse. He shoehorns his little world into everything, regardless of how irrelevant.

I think this show will be protected by prequel/Clone Wars fans. McGregor's take on Obi Wan is almost universally beloved. When people talk about Obi Wan, they talk about both him and Guinness. It's very rare that someone playing a character someone else is responsible for bringing to life is liked this much. Hell, it's arguable that people think of him more when thinking of Obi Wan at this point. Hayden Christensen sucked in the prequels, but people are ecstatic he's back now. Please.

Now that's not to say this show can't be good. I think the trailer looks well-made. I think there's a decent chance this show could be good. But I think people will ignore any flaws or contradictions it could create based on fondness for the prequels, McGregor, and TCW.

I don't think Filoni is formerly involved but if you read about the production it seems that he and Favreau were brought in by KK to chat about the direction it was going in before the initial ideas were scrapped.

Plus I think they definitely have the ear of Deborah Chow given her Mandalorian involvement.

Thing is, I'm not particularly a Star Wars cartoon hater, e.g. I watched all of Rebels and thought it had some really good moments. I just don't think some of the ideas / baggage that comes from Filoni in particular translates well to live action.

Boba Fett and now this seem very much like they're going to be live action "cartoons", rather than cinematic Star Wars.

She is kind of their protege isn't she?

I can't get into the cartoons. I tried, I just don't enjoy them. They don't mesh with the movies imo. I don't begrudge anyone who likes them, but I DESPISE when you're talking about a movie topic and someone squeezes them into the conversation. Sorry, but Dooku and Anakin never fought between AOTC and ROTS, Anakin never had an apprentice, and I don't care about Ahsoka.
