Question about the chase scene (Spoilers)?

When she was chasing the adult "it', do you think she was falling through different parallel realities or different parts of the world (layers of the earth)?

I am curious about this.

I thought it was different parts of the world. Other people’s version of her reality that probably went to the same realtor and ended up “raising” another child to replace the agent that will die

Seems to be no great answer for this. My guess is that it was something like different dimensions, involving couples just like her that were raising alien-babies, and she got to see them; not sure if they could see her. But seems like she could not really interact with those other worlds, other than to see them, and perhaps stand on the floor. But overall this seems to add absolutely nothing to the plot. It's not needed, and it's confusing. I think we are assuming that these alien things are doing this elsewhere; so whether it's occurring in a different plane or universe or under the street seems to be irrelevant to the movie. It's not like this allowed her to escape or something, or revealed something about the creatures that we did not know.

All of the houses were empty. I'd think they were all occupied by various people trapped in a different layer of the vivarium. She managed to get into the realm where 'they' exist, chasing pencil neck. And finally slid back out into her own 'layer'.

I think it served to show that the entire community was going through the same thing, and not just them stuck amidst a plethora of cloned houses.

Too much left up for interpretation really, I wish it had been explained more. The boy gave her the book with representation of them as shown when he pretended to be one with the throbbing neck, and all the foreign writing and diagrams. But nothing is explained and all left up to the viewer.

And with no real direction, we can all have varying opinions.. but they'd most likely all conflict.

Nowt that I think of it, that scene was a lot like when Alice (in wonderland) chases the rabbit and falls.

Could that woman sitting at the table see her, though?

I seem to recall she did? I could be wrong though, do not make me watch it again. I have time and nothing to do, oh god.. I'll get back to you..
