The nail in the stairs is still there? Learning curve, anyone?

The nail was there IMMEDIATELY after the events of the first movie. Probably not after that.

Emily stepped on it in the first movie as far as I remember. Maybe a good occasion to remove it finally?

I think you're missing the point. The sequel starts right where the first movie ended. In the first movie she steps on the nail, a creature shows up, she goes into labor and then all of the stuff happens with the husband dying and them figuring out the creatures' weakness. It's all over the matter of a few hours. When the second movie starts they pack up immediately and leave. At what point in this scenario do they say, "We better fix that nail on the stairs before we leave."

With this bad experience I'd fix it immediately. I mean, it's not rocket science, right?

And she gave birth to the baby in between, recovered, the father died...that did not happen in hours but at least days. Time enough to fix that stupid nail.

No there is no way to remove a nail quietly.

It’s been there since Home Alone. 31 years and Kevin still hasn’t cleaned up his house of horrors!
