Would All the Prisoners Be Freed If...

everyone only ate every third day? I couldn't figure out if the prison was a puzzle/experiment that the organization wanted to see if the prisoners could consistently solve.

There were 333 levels x 2 prisoners per level = 666 prisoners (appropriate hellish number). On a freeze frame, it looked like the platform could hold about 250 plates of food. So, if the prisoners cooperated and only ate a single plate every third day, then conceivably, no one would starve. Obviously, to accomplish this would take tremendous will power and unity--much more than humanity has historically displayed, but it did get me thinking. Not a comfortable watch, but a very thought-provoking film.
