shareIt was beyond rubbish. Hell the ending was the worst part, they might have well done the classic bullshit it was all a dream ending... well that would have been a step up from where this crap ended.
sharethere were elements of kevin bacon having a total psychosis and him being the "evil" in this movie but it quickly turned into supernatural bullshit.
shareI found all them alleged twists extremely predictable.
shareAgreed on your first two points, but I do not find Amanda to be nice eye candy. Well not nice enough to make me not regret sitting through this movie. It was so tried and predictable. The whole point displayed in the trailer about the one part of the house being longer than the outside was very intriguing and was just blah in the actual context of the movie by the time they show that scene. The triangle for measuring right angles felt pointless and maybe we lost out on a lot of stuff there during editing.
While it still would have been trite, I think the film would have been better off if Theo was actually just insane like it tried to hint at in a few scenes and took more of an active part in his wife's demise and maybe others.
In this lousy movie there were a few things to appreciate. One was them experimenting and discovering the house's anomalies. Another was that they actually tried to leave. Maybe I liked the cinematography when he was overwhelmed by cliches on the staircase. Other than that, I can't think of a single thing worth shit in this movie. 2/10
If they had left out the spooky dream guy and the yawn-scares, it might have risen up to a 5/10.
Worse than this year's "Inheritance" which is saying alot.
