I was really scared they were going to have sex, I kept thinking "Please no, I do not want to watch a grown woman have sex with a 12 year old" I was relieved it didn't go there. It was still rather strange but it's based in reality so...
shareI think Shia had to add it to the story because I'm assuming It was true and probably happened to him more than once growing up and It needed to be added to the story to Properly show the many NUMBER of things that happened to him and why he's so fucked up....
It really shows what growing up as a child star is like...
again, I would imagine from the ages of 12 to 15 as he was getting interested in girls, He had Plenty of 17,18,19 and maybe older girls through themselves at him...
If this did in fact happened to him....I think It was very important to add it in the movie and story so we could really understand even more of what it was like for him growing up as a child star and realize it was MUCH MORE than just an abusive dad that really fucked him up....
I liked the movie overall, although I dont feel its as great as the Universal praise its getting but thats just my opinion...
I didnt know that this story was based on Shia's life until after I watched it. I just finished another film with him called American Honey and he just amazes me with the range that he has. He steals every scene hes in.
I loved this film, wish it was longer and that it went even deeper. I wanted to know more about his mother, his fathers criminal offenses, any siblings... Guess I have to research it on my own, but would have liked more in this film.
Ya Hes actually a really good actor....
He just got really REALLY Odd and crazy for a few years....
He recently made another movie thats supposed to be great and he supposed to be fantastic in called The Peanut Better Falcon....I'm going to check it out
Super uncomfortable to watch. I really hope that didn't happen in real life.
