"Currently not employed..." ...Was she even fired?

Notice how Lucasfilm informed the world that Carano was currently not employed by Lucasfilm and that there are currently no plans to employ her in the future.

So was she even fired?

It stands to reason that a non-vital character such as Cara Dune would not require the actor to be signed on to play the role until the script is completed and production planning is under way.

Nothing in S2 told me that Dune was a central recurring character.

I get the feeling that Carano knew what she was doing. She just petulantly posted a bunch of shit so she could spin the reaction out into a martyrdom story when she actually had nothing to lose. Pathetic.

reply

She was obviously fired and the only one who "petulantly" did anything are Disney and the little SJW Twitter bottom-feeders who harassed her.

reply

She was fired. The article I read said Disney wanted to do a spinoff series based on her character.

She wrecked her career by talking crazy.

reply

Only in the Upside Down did she talk crazy. On the contrary, she's one of the very few in Hollywood who has talked any sense.

reply

She's a QAnoner nutcase. She's been talking crazy for months. Her family needs to deprogram her.

reply

Sources? Besides your anus that is.

Her social media accounts, dumbass

You have made the allegation please provide proff of her social media account to back up your claim.

Purdon of proof lays with you now. I will wait.

reply

To fellow alt-right Q nutjobs, there's nothing wrong with what she liked or reposted.

reply

Still waiting on that proof?

Or are you just the troll everyone thinks you are.

You can find an article stating that a spinoff series is planned for virtually every character in the franchise.

She was a recurring character, to the point of having her own spin-off planned (which was cancelled after she was fired).

That article is about another article, that heard it from a guy who heard it...... and so on.

She was partly in three episodes. Punched a few people. Attempted to act a few times.

Type "*character name* spin off" into google.

reply

That's not a planned spin-off. That's just a journalist saying that he'd like to see a IG-11 spin-off.

reply

So is the source of article you posted a link to.

reply

No.

I quote from the article about Cara Dune's spinoff:

"Gina Carano was almost awarded her own Star Wars spinoff. [...] The character has recently established herself as the Marshal in Nevarro, which could be a set-up for her now-canceled spinoff. [...] Assuming that this is going to be the case, Lucasfilm can still move forward with their initial plans for a Cara Dune spinoff. "

There's a difference between Lucasfilm making plans for an spinoff and then cancelling them (that was the case with Gina Carano), and some random journalist wishing that some random character had an spinoff (which was the case with the link you posted).

reply

They are citing another Web page which speculated without proof that she was getting a spin off series. If you read the whole article you'd know that.

reply

She is not a non-vital character. She is a Marshall of the New Republic, and without her Grogu would not have been found. And she would've been a key figure in Rangers of the New Republic.

reply

She punched a few people in a couple episodes. I remember back in 2019, all the bros that are outraged at the "one good thing in Disney Star Wars" being dropped now were screaming then about how they'd shoehorned this bad ass female SJW character in to take the spotlight away from Mando by being more badass than he is.

reply

Liar, I remember people complaining she punched his helmet but not that she was a "bad ass female SJW character". You just made that bit up, Most people who were aware of Gina were also aware of her MMA career so no, there were no "bros" "outraged" about anything.
