Mando is taking place a bit after ROtJ, which means it's about 20 years from TFA, which suggests to me that the timeline works out for our Mando being the one who dropped Rey off on Jakku.

Maybe, the Emperor is pulling the strings for all of this and was hunting baby Yoda in order to take samples. Maybe he has the Kaminos clone him, but tweak the DNA to be female and infused with some baby Yoda-chlorians. That would make Rey part Palpatine, part Yoda, and hyper force-sensitive, and - assuming the baby Yoda is a good Force user due to it helping Mando rather than attacking him - perhaps the '1000 years is in you now' that Luke was speaking of in the trailer and the fact that the chosen one is supposed to bring 'balance to the force', perhaps the prophecy was never about Luke, but was always about Rey - the manufactured out of Sith Palpatine and Jedi Yoda baby. That would possibly make even more sense by introducing genetic memory as a trait of Yoda's species, which would make Rey instinctually adept at using the Force without formal training. That would kinda make sense with the '1000 years of knowledge' since Yoda made it to 900 years.
