Disney is reediting the original trilogy to adapt it to the modern franchise

Star Wars will be available in Disney+, but the new edition has been edited by Disney. One change is known: in the famous duel between Han Solo and Greedo, a line of dialog has been added, before the shooting, Greedo says 'Maclunkey!'.

Since Greedo was a bounty-hunter, this change is likely to be related to the new Mandalorian series, and probably is some kind of bounty-hunter code word, which means Disney has started to edit the original trilogy to fit it into the Disney view of the franchise.

I'm wondering how long it will take until the official original trilogy edition starts to include new lines of dialogue about race, gender, patriarchy, diversity and all those wonderful things :-)

GL made the change himself.

It's another change. In 2012 version, Greedo shot first. Now Greedo says 'Maclunkey!' and Han shoots. Disney has reedited it.

Wrong:

"Disney told The Verge it was a change “made by George [Lucas] made prior to the Disney acquisition.”

Right now, Disney owns the rights, and the change has been done under their watch. If Lucas claims that change, that's a different story.

Until then, it keeps being a change made by Disney.

DAAMMNN! That's too fucking horrible to contemplate! Those Disney bastards better leave the originals alone!!

I expect them to edit a Via Morada into the OT as well. She is the Disney-Park-only character they have prowling around the new SW zone. She is supposed to be Leah's "personal spy."

They've made a dog's breakfast out of the franchise. Though not spectacular, at least Mandalorian is decent. First thing since TFA I have liked from Disney's shot at this and TFA was not great.
