There is such a thing as being too self aware which this looks to be. I groaned multiple times at the crappy jokes in the trailer.

The cringe factor is a part of the dark humor at how self-absorbed and immature the bulk of the characters are. After watching it, it's kind of surprising no one in the clique tried murdering anyone else yet.
