How did those other two end up remembering who the Beatles were? Did they get thrown from a bike as well or in an accident and get knocked out?
Also, how did the whole thing happen anyway? I know it was a worldwide blackout but no other explanation is given.
The bike fall was irrelevant.
The blackout took everyone on earth to an alternative reality. Except a handful for reasons unknown.
Wouldn't it make more sense that this small number of people made the transition and not the most? Several things are different for either the majority or this minority, since most people on that world don't know of the Beatles, Oasis, tobacco, Coca-Cola or Harry Potter but a few do.
I'm with you on the alternate reality aspect though. Maybe these people got switched with their counterparts on that world that is not very different from theirs, since even Jack Malik's set of friends is the same.
The script was no good, so they didn't bother to think things like this out. Which is unfortunate because it's a great idea for a script. But the writer had no depth, and it quickly devolved into a ridiculous comedy...that's not funny. As an alternative I highly recommend Blinded by the Light.
