Christina Applegate Is Channeling Jason Bateman in This

It's one of those things...something about how Christina Applegate was reading her lines reminded me of somebody. I'm not talking about the dramatic sequence in which Christina is crying her eyes out on command; I'm talking about the "comical" moments, when she is trying to talk her way out of something, or talking to someone in a snide "I'm talking down to you" sort of way, with a clipped, quick delivery.

And then it hit me...Jason Bateman.

Particularly in his "Arrested Development" comedy phase, but even in his more serious work on "Ozark."

I wonder how this happened. Same acting coach? One of them watched the other on TV, and liked it?

It weird. But it is definitely there.
