What happened at the end?

I don't understand the ending and what happened. Could someone please explain it to me? The main actor Bart was annoying in this film.

Obviously, he kept copies of the videos and left them to be found by the police. That's why they arrested the killer husband. The whole experience pushed Bart out of the shell, and he decided to try to be more opened with people.

I think this was for dramatic effect and utterly pointless.

You know you may be right. Remember he touched the blood in the hotel room because he was curious? Maybe he pointed the gun at the floor and pulled the trigger because he was curious. He had probably never handled a firearm before.

I think the he committed suicide and the mall scene is just a flashback, otherwise the gunshot is pointless.

He shot the computer monitor at the end. You saw the broken glass on the screen.
