I can't imagine them casting someone with such an ugly voice. She's not a particularly good actress, so there had to be someone better with a normal voice.

Have you heard the podcast? The real Terra has a somewhat odd voice. You can hear the whole thing through Google. It’s amazing.

I've never listened to a podcast. Is it the show you listen to?

No, the show was a dramatisation based on the LA Times podcast by Christopher Goffard. It’s in 6 parts about 45 minutes each with commercials. When you google for the next one just search dirty John podcast episode 2 (then 3, etc.) and scroll down the results. It’s really good and includes conversations his ex wife recorded with him and answering machine messages, so you get to hear what a psycho he was. It also has interviews with Debra, Terra, Shad, and the older sister, as well as attorneys, and others involved.

You’re going to like it! It’s very suspenseful even if you already know the story.

I haven’t seen the show but I’d read an article that summarised the podcast so I knew the outcome.

I would like to see the show to see what they changed.

I don’t think it’s a direction choice though. It’s the actresse’s real voice, she sounds the same in the Ozark. Only difference is that she speaks in southern accent.

I haven’t heard the podcast but did watch Evil Lives Here and the daughter has a similar voice that sounds almost like a whine no matter how she speaks. So I feel they matched her very well
