Fat Damon
Was this movie the reason why Jesse Plumbus had to be fat and ruin the continuity of _El Camino_'s "Todd" character?

shareI also liked Meth Damon.
shareI think he became Fat Damon for Fargo season two.
Actually, now I was checking which season of Fargo it was, and came across some interview with him about the show where they asked him: how did keeping the weight he gained for Black Mass help inform Ed's character?
So, he was fat since 2015 since the Black Mass movie.
Why do you think it’s because of this movie? Didn’t it just got released on Netflix? That would be after El Camino which was released last year.
I was asking. I'n not an expert on the film production timelines of every Phatt Damon movie. And I wonder if some movies are released more than a year after filming, hmm.
So maybe it was The Irishman?
Doesn't matter when he first got fat. What matters is that he was making a Breaking Bad movie, where continuity was important. And yet despite that, he couldn't lose weight. Meaning the weight was some other role probably in a movie that was being considered more of a work of important art. El Camino was treated like inferior sh*t. So for example, one could imagine him being forbidden by Scorcese, or Scorsese's filming running behind when Damon was supposed to be filming El Camino... and Scorcese just saying FU to Vince Gilligan.
Well I’m not an expert either, I just remember first seeing him fat in Fargo. I think. I just looked it up when I was replying to you and then came across that info, that he was fat already before the show. Then I found the info he was supposed to get fat for Black Mass.
Yeah, some movies get released even more than a year after filming, if there was some financial problems with the production, etc. Usually I think it is released within a year. I know some oscar bait movies are timed to be released just in time before the awards season so they can be eligible to be considered.
I totally forgot he was in The Irishman. Even now I can’t recall what was his role, will have to look it up. So I have no idea if he had to be fat for that role. You might be right, it could be because working with Scorcesse was more important.
But still, he’s been fat for about five years now. He is still quite plump if you look at his pics from this year. Maybe he just can’t be bothered with getting in shape or it’s hard for him.
Edit:
- filming of The Irishman began on September 18, 2017 and wrapped on March 5, 2018, for a total of 108 days.
- filming of El Camino began in secret in New Mexico in November 2018, lasting nearly 50 days.
I wonder if he tried those weird Yo-Yo diet techniques perfected by notable actors like DeNiro, Bale, and McCouneghy but in Jesse's case it backfired and he acquired Type II Diabeetus and now he can't shake the weight off?
