I freaking LOVE how well these films are choreographed & shot. From The Raid films to The John Wick Franchise & Last Year's Extraction to this, Are we entering the "Golden age of action films" yet again??

I honestly love how these new films are setting a trend of how well the fights should be choreographed & how well the action should be shot. Long & wide shots & brutal, bloody fights with a steady camera

No more nausea inducing shaky cam BS or a multiple cuts for just a single freaking fight scene

And better yet, there's actually an appreciation by the audiences for these well made action films.

Nobody and John Wick are steps in the right direction. There isn't any woke SJW bullshit or feminazi crap like women thinking they can beat up dudes twice their size.

I think one of the things that makes 'em great, apart from the choreography & being well shot, is that they're shown to be vulnerable. John Wick, Nobody & Daredevil's protagonists get their asses kicked. They're shown bruised & bleeding all the time.

That's one of the main reasons I enjoyed Charlize Theron is Atomic Blonde. She kicked kicked major ass but also got like really hurt. Badly bruised, tired & bleeding. The fights were brutal.

I just hate the "Mary Sue" characters who feel invincible. They're perfect at everything & they're basically invulnerable

I'm a bit concerned Nobody has been infected with a bit of that BS. Though coming from the Russian director who did Hardcore Henry, let's hope that's not the case as Russians don't tend to go for that crap.

The short answer is "No".

The Raid are great films, but they're Indonesian movies. The director is American, but the guy who choreographed the fight scenes was this one:

He's the guy who played Mad Dog in the first one, even though he choreographed both of them. And he plays a role in John Wick 3 too.

Nobody was made by a Russian director, Ilya Naishuller, who was the one who made Hardcore Henry.

They're isolated cases made by people who are not even from US. And 50 years ago, US had the capacity to gather talent, but that's gone. Unless you live a shitty life in a shithole country, it's not a good place to migrate anymore.

Honestly, I think we're not there yet but thanks to some of these films, the audiences are starting to appreciate this "new breed" of action. And it's slowly bleeding into tv shows as well.

The films that we've mentioned are starting to start kind of set a bar of what action films should feel & look like. Great choreography & camera work

I have hope that we'll get there in the near future

No, because they all use the same template. 90s action movies were all different from each other.
