Helena Bonham Carter believes that if the movie had been made just a year later, they probably would have had to cast a black actress as Enola because of greater focus on diversity.

Imagine the uproar that would have caused among all the complainers who were already clutching their pearls and having hissy fits about "so many" people of color in a historical setting, LOL!

I guess not. It's telling that all the complainers I referenced above have absolutely nothing to say about this.
