This is basically Get Out with a white girl as the hero instead
But with a touch of humor. Both movies were decent, but I liked Get Out more due to my personal tastes. GO delved more into sci-fi.

sharePlease explain the similarities. I am only seeing that one half of a couple is terrorized by a crazy family. Besides that, the movies are not very similar.
shareI was thinking that the hero is in a relationship with a family member of the psycho family and they bring the hero home and take part in a weird psycho ritual and the hero’s partner is in on it the whole time and then lots of what you pointed out.
shareThe set up is a little similar, but the movies are much different. Get Out has a lot of social relevance imbedded into the storyline, while Ready or Not is a cat and mouse game involving a woman who is kick ass. There is a lot more action in Ready or Not too. Both are really great movies, but I don't think that they are similar enough to say that maybe one of them isn't worth a watch.
shareAlso, that social relevance in Get out is really front ant center. and because of that the film takes itself pretty seriously. There's a little comic relief at the beginning and end with the Chris' friend Rod, but that's just a comedic foil because the rest is so creepy. Ready or Not doesn't take itself too seriously at all. I spent much of the movie laughing. It looks like it must have been a blast for the actors.
