i’ve heard them sing ‘if wishes were leaves…’ in live versions but they say ‘if wishes were trees’ on the album and video. i think leaves makes more sense. i wonder what the story is behind the change. was it too hard to sing without getting tounge-tied?

I though R.E.M. were one of those things from the 1980s/1990s that we're all trying to forget ever happened. Now I'll be thinking about this song for the rest of the day.
