The cast is just so unappealing, probably the scariest part of the move
Can Toni Collette be anything other than unhinged and scary? The only thing scarier that the spirts is the way a hysterical housewife is portrayed.
She should've won an Oscar, and G. Byrne's performance was excellent.

She only plays mentally unstable people. I think about the character in about a boy.
To me the housewife with no tragedy is scary enough.
