...was the two females' friendship and also how the boyfriend's socially awkward "ginger" best friend played into it. The debatably unrealistic part is that two girls would be such good BFF's while one is dating the other's ex, and that no one else would know about their friendship.

Yes. But it is an interesting twist on the more common high school themes. Supposedly autobiographical too.

It was definitely an interesting topic. There's a good chance you'd get along with the people your ex has dated seeing as how you all have the same taste. I like how they explored it!
