shareAside from hoping for a cash in on Margot Robbie's appeal of the moment, I think the film was basically a place holder to keep the "Suicide Squad verse" of DC alive until Gunn gets the next film launched. It's not a strategy I disagree with. It never mattered if this movie was good or bad or made money or not. Keep the characters in the public consciousness, introduce a bunch of new characters to work with in the future. This is still just DC struggling to get some world building going on. I should imagine it's much cheaper to make these than the Superman/Batman films. This is the desperate age of content, Content, CONTENT! These streaming services aren't gonna fill themselves.

shareThese are very good points, the average attention span of a millennial is 8 seconds; the attention span of a princel is even less. They have to churn these out to keep the character$ in the public consciousness, regardless of the quality of the product.
