At the movies to watch Windows 7
There I am, at the cinema, scoffing popcorn, and what is on the screen? A Windows 7 desktop right after a fresh install. It was a weird experience.

It was weird watching it at home on my laptop too to be honest.
shareYeah these types of movies are weird and awkward lol
shareAt the very beginning of the movie the operating system looked more like Windows 95 or 98 and it confused me. The girl was only 16, making her born around the year 2000, so it would be about 10-15 years too early.
shareIt is Windows XP. Windows 95, 98, and ME had a distinct boxy gray task bar. Windows XP was available from 2001-2008 and I have read that some laptops were still being sold with XP through 2010. Also, there is no reason this has to be a new computer. Lots of people keep computers for a long time and it is not uncommon to reinstall Windows to "refresh" the computer. If she is supposed to be 16 in 2018, this could have been a brand new computer with Windows XP considering how young she is when they create her account.
Windows XP was the most used operating system all the way up until it was surpassed by Windows 7 in 2011 and then it slowly tapered off over the next few years. I was still using XP in 2017.
