I knew who did it when I...

...first saw him standing next to his mom in the Facebook picture. I don't know why, but I said to myself that he looks weird, I bet he did it. When Rosemary told Margot's dad that her son collected the 25 dollars and that she covered for him, I knew that I was correct. No shock for some reason.

I recognized that guy who "committed suicide". Thought that picture of her standing with all those ex con dudes was weird and figured it might be brought up again.

The same thought occurred to me briefly but I didn't really dwell on it very much. In the end the twist caught me by surprise.

In hindsight I feel silly but I didn't suspect her at all. Which I guess is a good thing because it's cool to be blindsided with the twist when it occurs.

I love these kinds of threads, because I GUARANTEE you there'd be one for Whoever the bad guy turned out to be.
One of the things this movie did really well was lead you down a bunch of plausible/usual trope alleys, till they finally settled on a conclusion that pulled together a bunch of previous threads pretty well.

If it had turned out to be the brother, there would be countless people saying "I knew immediately!"
Same for the study buddy. Same for the kid who got beat up in the theater. Etc. Etc.

You didn't *know*. You guessed right. It's a subtle distinction that misses countless message board denizens.

Shrug.

Actually I never pick the killer or suspected killer in these things. I don't know what it was but I saw his pic on Facebook standing next to Rosemary and I just had a feeling. When the car was found in the lake, the way Rosemary acted was very suspicious and when she screamed at her son to go back in his room, I thought it was strange. When she told the story about the 25 dollars and how she lied to cover up her son's stealing, I kind of knew then. Anyhow, it was just a feeling I had. Rosemary seemed sketchy throughout and the reveal wasn't that surprising. I was just trying to figure out how Rosemary and her son were involved. That I had no idea about. You can believe me or not. I don't care.
