Would you say this film will have effect once it's release following Armie Hammer's most recent controversial comments? But at the same time he not the lead character.

I'm still gonna see it. Funny thing that there's a post about this since there's rumors he may be recast a la Kevin Spacey in that JP Getty movie.

I noticed in the trailer they hid his face for a while.

It'll be a bit hard to hide him in the film since, you know... he plays the killer.
