ROP brought to you by the esteemed writers of.........
The most expensive TV show ever, based on works from a celebrated writer of beloved books and following a successful film trilogy.
Makes sense to give it to writers with ZERO credits to their name.
The only hint of a credit is they may have been delivering coffee to the writers room on Star Trek Beyond, 8 whole years ago!
The only writing they did was penning Starbucks orders onto a notepad.
But, when they delivered the coffee, Simon Pegg looked them in the eye and said thank you before they shuffled off to mop the toilet floor, so they do have some experinece in the writing room.
Where are all the seasoned writers with experience? When I go for a job interview, the first thing they ask is what's your experience. What have you done, who have you worked for, what's your accomplishments.
If there's a CEO position open I can't just rock up to the interview and tell them I have no experience, or all of my past CEO roles have led to massive failures, then expect to land the job.
Hollyweird seem to be giving writers who have ZERO experience multi-million dollar projects of beloved franchises.
Leslye Headland of the Acolyte. One of the most expensive TV shows ever produced.
Headland was just a lowly PA with no interest in film making when she was young. One minute a mere personal assistant with no background in film. The next directing a $200 million dollar Star Wars project.
Maybe if she went to actual film school or had a background in film making, she would be able to pull something off. Somehow managed to glom on and get herself a writing credit on something successful, one of many writers involved.
Next thing you know, she's hired to write and direct a multi-million $ Star Wars project.
As you already know, Acolyte along with Rings of Power completely bomb, are rejected by everybody, and it fails on every level.
Same with Sony and their continuous hiring of "the bomb squad" Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
After Morbius and their small list of horrifically written box office flops, it boggles the mind how they get hired again for Madame Web, which you guessed it was a gigantic BOMB and savaged by critics and fans alike.
I can't wait for their next multi-million $ project.
