People speculating on who Sauron is

Surely this is him right here

https://youtu.be/uYnQDsaxHZU?t=144

right?

reply

No, that's actually a female elf and the leader of some cult (more bullshit Amazon made up). According to leaks from last month, which have proven to be accurate so far, Sauron is Halbrand.

reply

Halbrand cannot be Sauron, unless the writers are utter morons. Sauron would not have acted the way he acted when Galadriel went underwater. Sauron also appeared as a beautiful elf, which Halbrand is clearly not.

reply

“unless the writers are utter morons”

Which could well be the case.

reply

Based on the opening narration and how they elevate Galadriel in that cave killing the troll(?) in the beginning of episode one, it is pretty much certain they are quite talentless.

reply

Well everything the leak said about episode 1 and 2 turned out to be correct so I have no reason to believe the rest of it isn't true.

reply

Maybe meteor man is a previous instance of the Valar sending an agent into Middle Earth like they would do with the wizards in the Third Age.

reply

I'm almost positive it is him. And it was all obviously a part of his devious plan to sneak into Numenor.
The writers seem like the kind which always invent plots based on a series of unlikely coincidences.

My guess, at some point he becomes Pharazon's confidant and poisons his mind against the queen.

After episode 3 it seems highly likely. He came from the southlands, won't specify exactly where though, he clearly has a dark streak and can be charming when he want to be, and mentioned that he was a blacksmith, It will be annoying if his meeting with Galadriel turns out to be a pure coincidence, I hope they explain that. And it is also annyoing that they showed him acting like a normal person when no one was watching. They broke a cardinal rule of storytelling. All they had to do was cut out a few seconds and not show him reacting to Galadriel going under the water, then rescuing her.

reply

actually scratch that, turns out he is the leader of the Southlings. Unless it is some elaborate plan to rule over the Southlands and turn it into Mordor. But isn't he supposed to be sneaking in with the elves to make the rings of power? Doesn't seem to fit to me.

Getting himself landed in jail by baiting some Numeroreans and getting into a brawl does not sound like the cunning charming deceiver that Sauron is supposed to be.

I am almost certain at this point he is the King of the army of the dead, which is why he is kind of an asshole. Nazgul s also a possibility, that seems like a very dark path for him though.
